Blood Tears is a hyperrealistic horror clown print, a reproduction of a pencil and charcoal drawing by David Mateo, with Giclée printing on heavy-weight paper. A female portrait in extreme close-up with white, iris-less eyes, an exaggerated smile with fangs, and black tears falling down her face, where the viscosity of the liquid, the texture of the skin, and the teeth have been rendered with extreme detail, making the figure seem to emerge from the darkness.

Psychological Terror and Obsessive Technical Detail

What differentiates "Blood Tears" is the fusion between comedy and tragedy: the frozen laugh of the classic clown transformed into something disturbing and irreversible. Every detail has been obsessively worked on: the viscosity of the black tears, the white of the iris-less eyes, and the sharp texture of the teeth create an extreme contrast that makes the figure seem to emerge from the darkness of the paper.
